About 2 months ago, I was privileged to be included in a music video for Jason Lee and the RIP-Tide's new single Mr Moai's Mash. The video follows Mr Tiki Head, a popular fixture in the So Cal tiki scene, around San Diego as he gathers his buddies to join him for a Jason Lee and the RIP-Tides concert at The Tower Bar. We recorded this episode at the preview party, which was held for those that were involved in the making of this music video and we hear some funny stories of what the process was like to make the video. Now, if you haven't seen the video yet, you can find it on YouTube by searching for "Jason Lee Mr Moai's Mash" or click this link:

Today we chat with Tribal Theory! Founded in 2005 in San Diego, California, Tribal Theory creates and performs their own brand of urban reggae and feel good island music. We recorded this episode from their green room at the House of Blues where they were headlining an all-star line up with CRSB, Bo Napoleon and Eli-Mac. Such a friendly and gracious group of guys, it was really great getting to know them, hearing the story of how the band got started, their song writing process and the delicate art of "rubber-necking!"

On this episode we chat with Spike Marble and Timothy Haack. Spike, Tim, a handful of others and I were once part of a group of Monday regulars at Don the Beachcomber, coming in every Monday night, for years, to enjoy their all night happy hour. In addition to patronizing the Dagger Bar every Monday, we enjoyed countless numbers of shows and events within that historic building, going back a couple decades to when it was Sam's Seafood. We recorded this episode from their Hidden Village back room in their final weeks to share stories about some of our favorite memories in this grand building.

I'd like to dedicate this episode to Chris Bonomo and Lost in Paradise. Chris was and is a driving influence to me and this podcast and if it wasn't for him, I probably wouldn't be doing this. I've worked with Chris on hosting and co-hosting a couple episodes of Lost in Paradise over the years and it's because of those experiences that I was inspired to try something creative for myself. Chris is awesome at what he does and I hope to someday be half as good as he is. So thank you, aloha and mahalo to Chris at Lost in Paradise!
